Key Benefits of Decision Taking

It is the incapacity to take decision that often leads to failure in life. If we are unable to take decision and always waver due to skepticism, we would suffer like the Shakespearean hero Hamlet obsessed with the dilemma “To be or not to be.” It is inability to take firm decisions that always results in disappointments and dismay.

The most important thing in life is that we should wish and resolve to take decision so that our mental and intellectual powers might not get paralyzed. The more we come to know about the failure

ruining young persons’ life today, the more apparent it becomes that incapacity to take decision always causes frustration and disappointment.

Paulo Coelho aptly remarks: “You must be careful never to allow doubt to paralyze you. Always take the decisions you need to take, even if you're not sure you're doing the right thing. You'll never go wrong if, when you make a decision, you keep in mind an old German proverb: 'The devil is in the detail.' Remember

that proverb and you'll always be able to turn a wrong decision into a right one.”

It is quite true that one of the major decisions of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of India, was to launch the famous “Quit India” movement in 1942 against the British regime. If he had hesitated to take this decision, India might not have got independence from the English rule in 1947.

No doubt, life has been designed in such a way that we have to take decision to go where our vision is. The difference between the impossible and possible lies in a person’s capacity to take decision. If we are unable to take decision, our life will be like a plane without a pilot. “Once to every man and nation comes the moment to decide In the strife of Truth and Falsehoods, for the good or evil side”(J.R.Lowell).
